About Me
About my work
I work with adults who have experienced sexual abuse or assault at some point in their life, either as a child or more recently. Many of my clients have struggled with believing that they are “too much”, they’re “bad” or that somehow they are responsible for what happened to them. In our work together we explore where these beliefs came from, work on reducing self-blame and judgment, and helping them be kinder to themselves. My clients also experience disconnection from their body and nervous system. Our work aims to help them safely reconnect with their body and feel better able to regulate their nervous systems.
What you can expect
My style as a therapist is to be more active and collaborative. This is your space to heal, and it is important that we do that in a way and at a pace that feels safest for you. If you’re looking for a therapist who will be neutral or a blank slate then I am likely not the right fit. You’ll find that I frequently talk with my hands, use humor, curse, and bring my whole personality to our sessions with the hope you feel comfortable doing the same.
